Los discos para el 2008

Ya en estas fechas hay discos sin publicar que están causando cierta expectativa.

Abril será el mes. Al menos, ésa es la fecha que ha anunciado Island, su sello, para el lanzamiento del 3er disco de la banda de Bristol, luego de 10 años de su último álbum autotitulado. Es bastante tiempo, y no, realmente no se sabe mucho al respecto del mismo, ni siquiera si es que siguen con la idea de llamarlo Alien. Ojalá no…

La banda de Gaz Coombes adelantará un nuevo single ahoritita no más, el 14 de enero. Se llama “Diamond Hoo Ha Man”, el mismo que se puede descargar [en una toma en vivo] desde su web oficial. El nuevo álbum está anunciado para marzo.

The Hawk Is Hawling. Tal sería el título del disco que están grabando, según las palabras del buen Stuart Braithwaite:

oh well, another glorious scottish failure comes and goes. you’d think it would stop coming as a surprise but unfortunately it doesn’t. no wonder we drink a lot. anyways enough football related mopery i should probably write something to tell you what is happening with our band. we have resumed rehearsing (meeting up and talking rubbish and occasionally playing music). we have the studio booked to finish recording (castle of doom is currently homeless) and we are going to get the record mixed in spring. if everything goes to plan the record (provisionally titled “the hawk is howling” should be out early autumn. it will probably have a song on it called “the precipice”. martin and i are going to see the sex pistols tonight and i had veggie sausages and beans on toast for dinner. oh barry and me are dj’ing next friday at firewater in glasgow. stuart b

Primero un single, “Death To Los Campesinos!”, para el 4 de febrero, y luego el disco completo, Hold On Now, Youngster…, para el 11, es lo que nos trae esta banda novel de Gales [LC! para los amigos]. No incluye su single más reciente “The International Tweexcore Underground”, pero sí incluirán una canción llamada “This Is How You Spell ‘HAHAHA, We Destroyed The Hopes And Dreams of A Generation of Faux-Romantics’” [hablando sobre los títulos raros, ¿no?]. Aquí en Manzarock ya soltamos nuestra imprsión sobre su EP debut, y tenemos expectativa para escuchar más de ellos, sí señor.

Tal es la descripción de lo nuevo que editará Goldfrapp este 25 de febrero, con el sello Mute. Seventh Tree ha sido producido por la misma Alison, junto a Will Gregory, y grabado en su propio estudio de Somerset, allá en las islas británicas. Se especula que el primer single “A&E”, a lanzarse el 12 de febrero. A esperar no más.

The Magnetic Fields are happy to announce that their new album, titled “Distortion,” will be released on Nonesuch Records on January 15, 2008. The band will perform a small number of U.S. tour dates in February and March. Specific details regarding venues and ticket pre-sales will be announced shortly
