Nuevo año, nuevas bandas y nuevos discos, cierto. Aunque para algunas el año que acaba de pasar significó el fin de su camino. En este pasado 2007 algunos grupos por demás interesantes decidieron separarse para seguir otros rumbos. Un repaso rápido:

Sacaron nuevo disco, un muy aceptable My Heart Has A Wish That You Would Not Go [nombre irónico, Mi Corazón Tiene El Deseo De Que No Te Vayas]. Y ahí quedó todo para los escoceses.

Simpático combo británico, creado por miembros de Housemartins, de extensa trayectoria, que decidió separarse por “similitudes musicales“. Para los fans, Paul Heaton sigue editando discos como solista [a.k.a. Biscuit Boy], al igual que Dave Rotheray, con su banda Homespun. Enhorabuena.

The Beautiful South have split up due to musical similarities. The band would like to thank everyone for their 19 wonderful years in music.

La banda de la ex-Bikini Kill, Kathleen Hanna, se supone ha entrado en una pausa que ya puede ser considerada como ruptura definitiva. En todo caso, si es que regresan, lo harán con un DVD/CD en vivo. A esperar, y sino, hasta la vista, babies.

Hi Everybody, Sorry we’ve been out of touch! It’s true that the three of us have taken an extended break from all things Le Tigre. After so many years on the road we really needed to clean our apartments and watch TV for a while…

Por alguna extraña razón yo juraba que esta banda era chilena. Como fuera, esta banda de California, que canta tanto en inglés como español, y se ganó cierto respeto en la comunidad alternativa hispana en tierra gringas. Una pena que no sigan más juntos.

After 7 years of making music as Los Abandoned, we have made the collective decision to go our separate ways.

Para algunos, hace rato era. En fin, un mal día de mayo Peter Hook anunciaba en el blog oficial de los ex-Joy Division que el Nuevo Orden llegaba a su fin.
